S. Foster (BA)Hons
SEN Advocate, Tutor and Mentor
I have a wide variety of experience with working with young people with additional needs, both personally having 3 children with additional needs, and professionally.

I began educating in a mainstream secondary school with a high number of EAL learners and those with gaps in education. Sophia delivered High SEN support in class alongside delivering an alternative curriculum for those who needed it in qualifications in Social Enterprise and Level 1 BTECs.. I have worked with Young Carers, students with a variety of additional learning and SEMH needs in both mainstream and alternative educational provision settings.

I enjoy History, learning and writing. I have a Bachelors degree in Social Science, a Diploma in Youth and Community Work and have attended many training sessions and programmes that build on working with and supporting young people with additional needs and their parents, spanning more than a decade. I have had Team Teach training and experience. and I am more than comfortable working with students who may show emotions physically at times and can work alongside the parent/carer to establish a family centred, team approach to any concerns.

I am First Aid Trained and hold an Enhanced DBS certificate both of which are renewed regularly.
